Two ways to use LogClaw: Managed vs self-hosted
LogClaw is offered under different terms depending on how you use it. Please read the section that applies to you.
Self-hosted (Open Source)
The LogClaw software is available under the Apache License 2.0. You download, deploy, and run it on your own infrastructure. There is no service agreement between you and LogClaw for the software itself—you use it at your own risk under the license terms.
We do not provide hosting, support, or SLAs for self-hosted use unless separately agreed. Your use of the website (e.g. docs, blog, marketing) is subject to these Terms; your operation of the self-hosted software is governed by the Apache 2.0 license and your own policies.
Self-hosting is strongly recommended for air-gapped networks, classified environments, and organizations subject to strict data residency or sovereignty requirements (e.g. healthcare, defense, government, financial services). The self-hosted version runs entirely offline with no external telemetry or phone-home capability.
Managed (Enterprise)
When we deploy and manage LogClaw in your cloud (e.g. yourcompany.logclaw.ai in your AWS/Azure/GCP), you receive a managed service. That relationship is governed by a separate Enterprise agreement (or order form) between you and LogClaw, including SLAs, support, security, and data processing terms.
Your log and application data stay in your environment. We do not host your data on our own infrastructure. The Enterprise agreement specifies our responsibilities, your responsibilities, and how we both handle data and incidents.
Use of the LogClaw website and services
By using logclaw.ai and related sites (e.g. docs, blog, demo signup), you agree to:
- Use the site only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms.
- Not misuse or attempt to compromise our systems, other users, or any third-party services we use.
- Provide accurate information when you sign up, book a demo, or contact us.
We may change or discontinue parts of the website or free offerings with reasonable notice where practical.
Data location
LogClaw's website, managed control plane, and business operations are based in the United States. For managed (Enterprise) deployments, your log and application data remain in your own cloud environment in the region you choose—we do not replicate your data to our infrastructure.
For self-hosted deployments, data resides entirely on your infrastructure. No data is transmitted to LogClaw or any third party. This makes self-hosted LogClaw ideal for air-gapped, on-premise, or data-sovereign environments.
Intellectual property
LogClaw’s branding, website content, and (except where open source applies) proprietary technology remain ours or our licensors’. The open source code is used under the Apache License 2.0. For managed customers, the Enterprise agreement sets out any applicable license and usage rights.
Disclaimers
The website and any free or demo offerings are provided “as is.” We disclaim warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. For self-hosted use, the software is provided under the Apache 2.0 license without additional warranties. For managed service, the Enterprise agreement contains any applicable warranties and limitations.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LogClaw is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website or self-hosted software. For managed customers, the Enterprise agreement sets out the agreed liability cap and exclusions.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LogClaw and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the website, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights. For managed (Enterprise) customers, indemnification obligations are defined in your Enterprise agreement and take precedence over this section.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the website shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. For Enterprise customers, the Enterprise agreement will specify governing law and dispute resolution. For any other disputes, you agree to attempt resolution with us in good faith before pursuing other remedies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance. Enterprise terms are changed only as set out in your Enterprise agreement.
